Natural Bug Repellent

"I put the bug spray to the ultimate test by applying it before heading out in the garden in the evening. I even picked raspberries with my shorts and sandals on and did not get a mosquito bite!" Karen, South Dakota

You won't find any DEET in this natural bug repellent. DEET(N, N-diethyl-meta-toluamide), is found in many insect repellents to day. It can melt plastic, peel paint and can cause skin reactions. This chemical can be absorbed into your bloodstream when applied to the skin.

Mosquitoes can be attracted to dark clothing, perspiration, and floral or fruity fragrances. These pesty bugs are also attracted to carbon dioxide. A hot body (from exercise or from a warm day) will give off more carbon dioxide. One way to lure mosquitoes away from you is to burn a candle.

Using these few simple tips and the use of natural bug spray will make your outdoor experience enjoyable!
