| | Homemade Facial ScrubIt's easy to make a homemade facial scrub if you have the time. Most of the ingredients can be found right in your kitchen. Granulated sugar, oatmeal, ground coffee beans and salt can all be used to exfoliate dry, flaky skin. Use organic ingredients whenever you can. Dry Skin: Exfoliate once a week if your skin is dry. You want your complexion to look healthy not red and irritated. Your skin will tell you if you are over exfoliating so adjust to what your skin can tolerate. Oily Skin: Exfoliate twice a week if your skin is oily. Pores can get clogged with dead skin cells, oil and grime. Trial and error will dictate as to how often is best for your skin. A homemade facial scrub will last a few days in your refrigerator. It's important to make a fresh batch weekly for best results. Experiment with different exfoliates like sugar, coffee grounds or oatmeal. One may work better than another on your skin type. Do you have a recipe to share? Please email julie@headtotoeorganics.com and I will be glad to post it here. Happy exfoliating!!!
